Pot Cozy: Construction & Testing

I am currently in the process of putting together the “Cooking” compartment for my new bug out bag (BOB). One of the items I would like to include, which I do not see with a lot of other bug out bags, is something carried by ultra-light backpackers called a “Pot Cozy”. A pot cozy is a simple and elegant alternative to simmering that will dramatically save fuel and provides a convenient carrying case for your cook pot. It provides an insulating layer around your pot to help reduce heat loss during simmering.

In this video I follow some instructions available online (search Google) for constructing a pot cozy and then I test it out by cooking Mac & Cheese. This is my first attempt at making a pot cozy, so their is a little trial and error.
