BUILDING A BUG OUT BAG: Clothes Compartment – Part 2
(Research & Development Video)

This video shows the CLOTHES Compartment for my bug out bag redesign project. For my bug out clothing system, I was heavily influenced by the layered systems using by ultralight backpackers consisting of the following 3 layers: base, insulation and shell. While some of the clothes are colored “black”, I tried to keep my clothes as non-tactical as possible so I would just like like a civilian who has shopped at REI. My clothing compartment weights approximately 4 pounds, and I have a few miscellaneous clothing items that are not stored in this specific compartment but elsewhere in my bug out bag. Here is a list of the items included in this video:

SmartWool NTS Microweight T-Shirt
REI Sahara Convertible Pants
Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes
Marmot Super Mica Rain Jacket
SmartWool Hiking Ultra Light Crew Socks (x3)
REI Revelcloud Vest
SmartWool Arm Warmers
REI Lightweight Polartec Power Dry Long Underwear Bottoms
REI Lightweight Polartec Power Dry Long-Sleeve Crew Shirt
SmartWool Balaclava
Outdoor Research Rocky Mountain Low Gaiters
ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxer Briefs
Sierra Designs Microlight Pants
Mountain Hardwear Dome Perignon Hat
Mountain Hardwear Refueler Shorts
Sea to Summit Insect Shield Mosquito Head Net
Custom Leathercraft Handyman Flex Grip Work Gloves
Blackhawk! Advanced Tactical Knee Pads v.2
GoLite Dome Trekking Umbrella
Carolina Mfg. Paisley Bandana (x2)
DeWalt Work Gloves
Kangol Men’s Wool 504 Cap

Please feel free to offer any constructive comments to help me refine my system. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
