This video shows a method for making some super quick improvised floats for getting down a river quickly or getting out to deeper areas for fishing. Things to remember:
-Waterborne safety is no joke, and you need to be a good swimmer to be safe with these methods.
-The pole acts like a paddle, use it wisely.
-I was surprised how well this worked considering. Its not something we teach, but instead something I wanted to try and have some ideas for vastly improving it so we may have another video in the future showing the improved version.
-Always be ready to bail from your improvised float, should dangerous waters or waterfalls be up ahead.
-Make an improvised floation device for you gear, if you have any.
-The logs act as shield for your body against rocks and other objects. This float actually protected me better than expected.
